Shan Goshorn Exhibition Catalogue Attracts Scholarly Attention

The College Arts Association (CAA) has selected the museum's exhibition catalogue Shan Goshorn: Resisting the Mission as a finalist for its 2020 Alfred H. Barr Jr. Book Award for Smaller Museums and Libraries. The results of this competition will be announced in late January or February. This is the second time a Trout Gallery exhibition catalogue has been selected as a finalist for the Barr Award. In 2009, The Trout Gallery received top honors from CAA for its catalogue A Kiowa’s Odyssey: A Sketchbook from Fort Marion.  No other small liberal arts college museum has been selected as a finalist for this award. The 2020 awards ceremony will take place at CAA's annual conference in Chicago on February 12.

Shan Goshorn: Resisting the Mission was chosen by the Pennsylvania Federation of Museums for a Special Achievement Award, to be conferred on April 20 at the John Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh.
