About the Event

Participants are invited to take a walk through Dickinson College’s campus to connect Carlisle trees with works of art on display in BRANCH: Trees in American Art at The Trout Gallery. Participants are invited to explore the trees' scientific characteristics and cultural meaning. Along the way, visitors will learn how these trees shape local history, contribute to environmental health, and connect to broader ecological issues, while also discovering how artists have interpreted trees as symbols, subjects, and sources of inspiration. By bringing art and science together, the tour encourages close observation, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the trees of Carlisle.
